May 2008

As the Fishery goes into it’s third year all three lakes are fishing very well. The cats are waking up in Woodland with a 28lb for Paul Bowden, a 27lb for Neil Franklin and a 26lb for Bob Winton and last week Luke Hartrey and Johnny Davies from Paignton had 21 fish between them over a 48 hour session including a 26lb 2oz Common and a 28lb 10oz Mirror. Alan and Andy Magee had 8 fish out including 20lb 2oz, 21lb 5oz and 25lb 12oz.

In the early part of the year another 300 fish went into Meadow Lake and last weekend saw Mark Farnell from Yeovil produce a new record for the lake with a 26lb Mirror.

Rush continues to fish well and apart from a couple of quiet weeks in March, match weights are coming in consistently over 100lbs, with tench showing up to 8lbs.

Match Bookings are now being taken into 2009 so please call Chris to reserve dates.

Fifehead One and Two (names yet to be decided), our two new lakes, have been full since the early part of the year and are greening up nicely. We look forward to welcoming anglers to them early in 2009.

Later this Summer we will also open a touring caravan site with 30 pitches, electric hook-ups, wifi, showers and toilets. This will be very close to the lakes and work will begin on it in a few weeks time.

Breakfast: From the beginning of June, Blackmore Vale Butchery will be selling home made Sausages, Burgers and Bacon next to the bait shop, with fresh eggs available when the chickens are in the mood.
